Farm Visits

Established in 1973 to give children a rare opportunity to experience lifeon a working farm. Children are encouraged to hold the hens, pat the pigs and stroke the sheep! Afternoon visitors can view the cows being milked. During spring there are orphan lambs to be bottle fed.....the highlight of the visit!

Amidst the fun and excitement, children learn about animal husbandry, farming techniques and conservation issues. Valuable discussion and follow-up work takes place in the classroom using a variety of teaching styles after the tour.
